50 Chess Games for Beginners is an animated chess tutorial website written by beginners for beginners. It is aimed at players who already know the basics but now wish to improve their game. We provide a step-by-step analysis of 50 chess games providing tips and advice for beginners. The games are fully annotated and show the position on every single move. The commentary discusses good chess tactics and strategies. Our website is particularly suitable for children, junior players, or anyone else wishing to brush up their game. We include descriptions of chess notation, standard chess openings, grading, chess puzzles and much more. Many more general chess questions are answered in discussions in our Visitors' Book. In addition to our original 50 chess games we ran a competition over 4 years, featuring 50 of the best chess games sent in by visitors. That makes a total of 100 analysed games with commentaries suitable for beginners.
Enjoy your visit!
